Our Story
Our story
Every family has a story to tell and we would like to share ours with you.
Our story is written with love and honesty. We set a goal when we first set up this business to produce a quality product, give great customer service, but continue to spend quality time with our family at home and on adventures .
We are a family of 4 (plus our dog) who live in Currumbin Queensland and love to go to the beach, have a day out on our boat, go caravanning and just taking our children on adventures.
After a day on the sand with the kids at Currumbin Beach QLD, whilst we were packing up we had a wet 12-week old puppy, 2 tired children, many sandy toys, wet bulky towels, and an urge to get home and get dinner ready. The one big problem was the large wet sandy beach towels and no where to put them wet, so we came up with the idea of Sandi Toes.
Sandi Toes, a towel that minimises the sand that we take home, a towel that takes up little room, and a towel that all children can carry in their own wet bag along with their beach toys. We wanted something fun and bright so we were quick to find designs that represented all the lovely Australia Flora, Fauna and Ocean.
We are a Gold Coast family who lives on our waterways and It is important to us to educate our children on sustainability and recycling.
We see and remove plastic and rubbish floating in our canals. When thinking about what we could do, for our part for our community we researched the best product for us to move forward with. A product that was environmentally friendly, a recycled product, and Sandi Toes Sand Free Beach Towel was developed.
Each towel is made from 20 plastic drink bottles which is 80% Polyamide and 20% Microfibre (rPET). rPET fabric (which is plastic bottles) are mechanically broken down into tiny flakes and melted to be spun into yarn. The yarn is then woven into recycled polyester fabric to create our Sand Free Beach Towels.
We hope that you love them as much as we do.
